We have a really cool family tradition that we like to call Fun Fridays… it is all about fun, family, snacks & a movie. This is what we have done with the kids for as long as I can remember. So when I found out that the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie was getting released I knew it was time to drive to Walmart and pick up a copy…along with all the essentials for a great movie night!

If you know my son, you would know how much he loves Spider Man, in light of this I made this movie night extra special. The goal was easy decor, with no fuss pick up/clean up, but with a big enough hype to get him excited about the movie. I also wanted a special snack for movie night.  So I created a yummy “Spidey trail mix” using Honeycomb®, chocolate candies, zesty snack mix with pretzels and pop corn! I styled and displayed this treat on our bar cart -which packed our evening with fun for all. The kids got to make their own “Spidey Trail Mix” and they loved it!

I have to admit I was totally having a flashback to my childhood with the Honeycomb® cereal…its a modern-day classic cereal, that is perfect for snacking.  I got to snack on Honey Bunches of Oats® Strawberry, made with REAL strawberries..its soo good!! I just think that everything is better when we gather as a family, Honey Bunches of Oats® cereal is ideal for bringing us together because it has the wholesome nutrition I want and the yummy honey taste they love!!

I wanted to add a little drama to our living room. So while the kiddos were at school I decorated our living room with a couple of spider Webs! Now before I scare you off, check out my Spider Web Tutorial post, it was so easy to make…you only need two materials Crepe Paper & tape…and did I mention how easy it is to clean up! I am all about big drama with easy cleans up!

I also added a couple of details to our coffee table and threw our sofa cushions on the floor. I can’t tell you how much the kids loved the cushions on the floors!! That’s it! Bar Cart, coffee table and Spider Webs was all that was needed for awesome decor to an amazingly fun movie night!

I have to share the kids reaction to seeing the living room and having Spider-Man into the Spider-verse playing in the background.  By the way, I had no clue that this movie won the Academy Award for best animated feature. How awesome is that?!

SPIDEY TRAIL MIX

I  wanted how easy it was to make this yummy movie night snack!  I loved using Honeycomb® because they look like little spider webs! super cute!

Ingredients:

• Honeycomb®
• Honey Bunches of Oats® with Strawberry
• chocolate candies
• zesty snack mix w/pretzels
• pop corn
• donuts

• pop corn popper /microwave
• plastic snack holders / bowls
• serving spoons
• cake plate
• bar cart
• paper fan decorations
• honeycomb paper balls
• pop corn boxes
• sofa cushions
• coffee table

Spidey Trail Mix Bowl

…and there you go! An awesome and yummy bowl of “Spidey Trail Mix” just the way you like it. The kids loved the ability to make their snack the way they loved it. The small serving bowls limited the serving size of their snack, so it was a win for everyone!

We all had an unforgettable evening. It was fun, we had cute decor, yummy snacks and it was all easy clean up! Hope you can give this one a try!
