Ground Turkey with Marinara Sauce

My hubby and I have been doing Whole 30 this entire month. It has been an adventure to create dishes that he ( + the whole family will enjoy)…because who has the time (or the will) to make two dinner.

I have shared the recipe step by step with my pictures and I have included a printable Recipe at the end of this blog..feel free to print!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING THE GROUND TURKEY WITH MARINARA SAUCE:

1. Add 2 Tbsps of Olive Oil.

2.  Add 2 Lbs. of Ground Turkey meat.

3. Cook turkey meat on Medium-High heat.

4.  Time to season the meat.

5. Season meat with about 2 Tbsp. of Adobo Goya.

6. Remember to season both sides.

7. Add 2 Tbsp. of Granulated Garlic.

8. Then add 2 Tbsp. of Smoked Paprika.

9. Remember to season both sides. ( tip: 1 Tbsp. per side.)

10. Sear meat, until its brown and caramelized then add the onions.

11. Next, add the garlic.

12. Finally, add 3 heaping tablespoons of Sofrito (click the here for Sofrito recipe). Sofrito is a mixture of garlic, peppers, onions, + cilantro.

13. Cook all the onions, peppers and garlic until they are soft.

14. Time to add the marinara sauce + 1 cup of water.

15. Mix the meat and the sauce together and allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes on low heat.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROASTING THE ACORN SQUASH:

Cut the acorn in half

Pre-Heat your over to 375 degrees.

While your oven pre-heats, carefully scoop out all the seeds inside the Acorn Squash. Lightly drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Place squash on a roasting pan + place the roasting pan in the oven. Roast for about 15 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and fork tender.

Ground Turkey in Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Lbs Ground Turkey meat
  • 2 Tbsp Adobo Goya
  • 2 Tbsp Granulated Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1 tbsp Garlic
  • 1/4 Bell Pepper
  • 4 Tbsp Sofrito
  • 24 oz Rao's Homemade Marinara Sauce
    1 jar

Instructions

  1. To your Dutch oven ( or a large pot) Add 2 Tbsps of Olive Oil.

  2. Next, add 2 Lbs. of Ground Turkey meat.

  3. Turn on stove to Medium-High heat and start cooking the ground turkey meat.

  4. Season meat with about 2 Tbsp. of Adobo Goya. Remember to season both sides.

  5. Add 2 Tbsp. of Granulated Garlic.

  6. Then add 2 Tbsp. of Smoked Paprika.

  7. Sear meat, until its brown and caramelized then add the onions.

  8. Next, add the garlic.

  9. Finally, add 3 heaping tablespoons of Sofrito.

  11. Time to add the marinara sauce + 1 cup of water.
