Our living room needed a serious upgrade…and if I am being completely honest we are not done yet. Our goal was to make this space feel peaceful and glam. Our home was become ( as many of you can relate) our haven. Its that place where we all gather to find peace and calm. There is so much noise in the world today, so we have set out to purposely remodel our home into a place that we enjoy. So we started with our kitchen and are slowly working our way through out house. I am not kidding when I say that our living room space was in serious need of an update. It all began with Saltillo tile floors, dark outdated sofas ( from when we first got married some years ago), and a dainty coffee table. It’s all we had at the time. It is astounding how layout can transform a space. The first step to creating pockets of peace & glam in our living room space can be achieved by changing the layout of your space. We moved the sitting area towards the Bookshelves and created an amazing conversation area.

The molding on our walls was by far what brought the most dramatic change. Check out this step by step tutorial on how to install Wainscoting on a wall, with sketches and pictures. THE GLAM MODERN LIVING ROOM WAINSCOTING WALL + DIY . Every room needed a focal wall and this Wainscoting brings so much drama and glam a living room. We went with white wall color, making this space fell so much bigger, brighter and glam.

Adding accessories to a living room, is like decorating a cupcake with frosting. A cupcake is delicious in itself, but when you add a delightful, creamy frosting on top, it becomes deliciously perfect. So it is with decorating, think of accessories as the frosting added to your living space. I brought in glam & functionality with the accessories in this space. Its all about the details and every detail in this bookshelf has been hand selected. Vases from Pottery Barn are my favorite, cake stands, books and other unique items adorn this space. This is where your personality comes in, choose items that bring peace and glam into your space. The items that spark great memories, things you treasure they can all have a place here..but its all about moderation. Don’t overfill your bookshelves, leave that white space that is so important for your eye to rest. Remember that the eye sends those images to your brain and our brains need patterns and symmetry. Likewise, our feelings are connected to the colors that we see, so keep all of these tips in consideration when selecting your accessories.
