As a work from home mom, I have a pretty flexible schedule. It allows me to do something I love and still be present when the kids are out of school. Today is the first day of their spring break, I have been looking for fun ways to spend our week together. So if you are looking for some inexpensive, exciting and easy things to do with your kids, let me share some ideas with you.

The kids and I made rainbow sprinkle pancakes for breakfast. The kids had fun mixing the ingredients and making the pancakes. We made extra mini pancakes, which make great snacks and they are an awesome easy break fast for the rest of the week. Pop them in your toaster to re-heat and enjoy!

Check out your local weather; if you get a chance, get out and have some out door fun! Look up your local parks and go for a hike. The kids and I packed a dinner basket, got our hiking clothes on, picked up Clyde on our way to Bastrop State Park. 67 degree weather, we hiked for a couple of hours and ended the day with a fun, outdoor family picnic!
We had a blast, we got a workout and the kids came home exhausted. This one is a must.

My son Tyler has been begging me for a while now to take him to our local library. This kid loves books, loves learning new things, and exploring new horizons. What a beautiful little mind. So this week, I am taking them to the library so that they can each pick out 5 books they are interesting in reading or have read to them. Take your kiddos to your local public library and see what catches their eye. Even if its a book full of pictures, ignite their imagination; intrigue their little minds.....and maybe you can find something that interests you. Let your kids see you reading often; kids learn more from what they see us doing than what they hear us saying.

This is the perfect time of year to start a veggy garden. So we are taking advantage of another beautiful day and heading out and buying a couple of veggy, herbs and fruit plants/trees. Another cool way to kids your kids involved in growing something cool, is by buying seeds, placing them inside a snack bag-along with a damp paper towel- and placing the bag on their window. It awesome to see and document the different changes the kids see happening with the seeds.

The kids really enjoyed making these fruits snacks. Let's face it, anything in an ice cream cone is just awesome, and is there anything better than playing with your food and then eating it? I don't think so. Check out this fun fruit snack idea.

What kid doesn't love to get his or her little fingers covered in paint? Take advantage of this week, prep your table by covering it with a plastic disposable table cloth. Get some paper and some finger paint or watercolors and let your little have a blast. it might be a little messy, but what fun they will have.
- chalk pain art ( side walk or driveway)
- invisible markers (mess free fun)
- crayons and a coloring book ( always a classic)
- melt crayons and drip over a canvas
- fill water balloons with paint and throw dart at them
There is a world full of wonder and new things, go explore!
