The kids are back in school and the mornings are starting to cool off a bit. While its not as cool as we wish they would be, I am grateful for a slight drop in the temps.
Summer has dragged on this year and we have had many warn afternoons, with temperatures above 100’s. I am ready for it to cool off a bit, to see some leaves start turning colors and for Autumn to finally arrive. With the anticipation of fall comes the desire to spruce things up a bit around the house and add some fall decor throughout.
When I start to add fall decor to my house I like to create unique, warm & whimsical focal points by using harvest hues of mustards and olive green with pops of gold, rust and even light creamy colors.

Adding different textures throughout every room, makes the house feel more cozy. I brought in baskets, accent pillows, throw blankets and a mix of fabrics like linens and wools to help add that fall flair that I am looking for.

I love all of the textures and greenery! Here in Texas fall is a greener time for us as long as we get some rain so the traditional brass and orange/red don’t always work.

What a beautiful home and lovely decor. I especially like the pops of orange! That blanket over the top of the basket in front of the fireplace is nice. I can’t tell if it’s crochet or knit, but it makes me want to take out some yarn and start crafting a similar blanket.
