How to decorate your home after the holidays are over; in that time between Christmas and Easter.

I finally took down all of the Christmas decorations; they are packed away oh so neatly & organized for next year. Imagine that!  I actually took the time to organize my stuff and store them away neatly. Check it out here.

So now I have this bare house. Every year its the same, I decorate the house with lots of Christmas-y decor, gold & red accents, pillows, details everywhere…but when its time to put all that away my house is bare. Its too early to decorate for spring, so now what? Can you relate? How do you decorate after the holidays are over? So, I made it my mission to gather some inspirations that can help you and me, decorate our homes after the Christmas Holidays…and I think I found the answer…

neutral decor

Joann Gains is a Guru at decorating – that is just a given, but we can learn so much from her and bring that into our homes. Her rooms are neutral canvases, that she adds details to. So bring on the neutrals to your space, during this…after the holidays decor time.

What I found is that neutrals are not always the whites and beiges, they can be light browns, tan colors, blacks and even greens & dark blues.  You can make your furniture pieces work, as long as they aren’t heavy pattern -meaning, as long as your furniture is one solid color, they work.  You can build on that neutral foundation and add color or more neutrals to your room!

For neutrals in  your office space, try adding tan tones.  Brown & grey storage add functionality & decor. There are some cute Hearth & Hand stuff that just arrived at Target.

For neutrals in the kitchen, try adding a cute white hand drying towel, white utensil holder and white decor – like this cute white food scale. The modern farm house look is in, but you can make it work with your style.
