Once a year, on February 13th, Galentine’s Day arrives; a recently adopted day in which we celebrate female friendships.  It’s a great reminder to celebrate the special lady friends that are part of our lives. This year, I wanted it to be a celebration of the special women that have impacted my life during 2018 (yes last year)! Not all my ladies were able to make it to party with me, but I still had a special gift for them all. Hallmark Paper Wonder Cards and Hallmark Signature Cards!

I am all about the details!

I am a firm believer that details make every occasion a little more special…and this one was no exception. I decorated with hues of pinks and reds…everything was pink, from the cupcakes to the cookies! pink perfection!

A lot of my readers think that they have to plan a whole menu in order to host a party. I say let the occasion dictate the menu. If you are hosting a formal evening event – a more encompassing menu will have to be served. I wanted to host a simple yet elegant afternoon with my gals…so I coordinated the menu, decor and drinks respectively.

A delicious meats and cheese board, a charcuterie tray is just an elegant way to style and present a light variety of cold meats, cheeses, fruits or nuts. I added Kalamata Olives and spiced crackers to my tray…it was a hit! The ladies were able to snack & talk…and laugh, there was a lot of laughing and Rosé.

Bar Cart Decor

Next, was my bar cart!   I just can’t seem to host a party without a bar cart…this Galentine’s Day was no exception. Okay, you got me, I can host a party without one, I just don’t want to. A bar cart brings an element of whimsy versus elegance & sophistication to an event…I just can’t pass up an opportunity to use and decorate one. Our Bff Bar Cart was so much fun. Cute banners, balloons and soda pop dangled all over, fizzled and sparked. It was a dream!

Hallmark Paper Wonder Cards at Walmart

To plan for my event I made a trip to my local Walmart where I spotted the cutest Hallmark Valentine’s Day card display, filled with stunning pop up cards!  Y’all Hallmark has done it again – they found a way to help me express my gratitude, with whimsical and beautifully crafted Paper Wonder  Cards… and they are POP UP cards!! How fun!!

So of course, I grabbed one for each of my friends, and one for my husband. Then I saw a dinosaur card and I had to get that one for my son and this overly cute, flowery & girly one for my daughter. I wanted them all … I love that Walmart makes it so easy and convenient to get my Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day cards.

I also love how Hallmark makes it so easy for me to express my love. There is something about giving someone a special card and filling it with meaningful words, that is just magical. It becomes a keepsake, they can forever treasure it, as a token of your affection…and isn’t that what Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day is all about, sharing our deepest appreciation for others.

Time to Party

After everything was set, it was time to party. I was so pleased with how everything looked. Maybe I do love pink after all… I have to confess I did have to go out and get a pink dress, because everything I own is black…maybe it’s time to reconsider adding some color to my wardrobe.

I welcomed each lady with warm hugs and affections…they looked so beautiful in their outfits….and they too were ready to party! I began our afternoon by “crowning” all of us as queens of the party. I took time to hand make Flower Crowns ( click the link for my tutorial),  I just thought they would look grandiose and gorgeous on our heads, and what woman doesn’t want a crown!?! lol.

After crowns and a little bit of “selfies” time, we got down to business… I mean to party! SO I put on my hostess “crown” and began to pour some fun…

The rest of the afternoon we spent eating sweet treats and just talking about the great memories we have built this year. We celebrated,  in our elegant outfits & enjoyed a casual afternoon. I love to bring glam to everyday motherhood life and this was no exception. Dressing up, putting on makeup and heels is needed once in a while, it feeds the soul. Remember that life is meant to be celebrated; and the hardships we encounter, they help us celebrate,  the good things…the good friendships…the good moments.

As the afternoon was winding down, I took a couple of minutes to thank the ladies for coming to the party. This is the part of the afternoon when you need your waterproof mascara… as I handed each lady their Hallmark Paper Wonder Card, I expressed to them how meaningful they are to my life. New friendships, old friendships…what blessings I have had this year. They have filled my heart with so much joy.

I can’t say enough about them and what makes them so special and so unique, it would take up hours and hours…. they each are a blessings to everyone around them and to me.
