Fun Fridays are a thing for our family. We like to discover new family, friendly places to eat in downtown Austin and its surrounding areas. We think its a fun way to spend time as a family, building stronger relationships and having some good ole fun. This hot Friday, we walked over a couple of blocks to the Seaholm Power Plant area. Located on the north shore of Lady Bird lake in Downtown Austin, by the Public Library – the Seaholm Power Plant re-development is just about finished and its a hot little area. There we found a little gem called The Baked Bear.

This delicious shop is amazing. A full on customizable ice cream sandwich shop – that smells divine and provides everything your sweet -tooth can ever crave. From brownies, cookies and ice cream – to delicious toppings and goodies -this place has it all…and no, I am not sponsored by them. They just make you enjoy every bite of that sandwich, because its pack with yumminess.

Your pick! Start by selecting a couple of cookies or a brownie -pick two, any two! but choose wisely they will become the top and bottom or your delicious treat. Oh the possibilities…
Bella picked a brownie bottom with a snickerdoodle cookie on top. Tyler picked two m&m cookies and Clyde and I picked a chocolate chip cookie and a sprinkles cookie. Ohhh so good!

Pick your ice cream flavor, or two. That’s right. You can choose up to two ice cream flavors to go into your desserts

SO many good toppings to choose from. Your ice cream sandwich gets rolled in it. Because, well you know, you can’t have enough goodness.

Everything get smashed down by the flat iron. It also makes the ice cream a little more pliable, and soft for that first bite.
