Today, I’m thrilled to share with you our latest project: glam and modern entryway: black wall. This area holds a special place in my heart, and the striking black wall is truly the star of the show. It greets you the moment you step into our home, commanding attention and setting the tone for the entire space. Despite being a work in progress, I’m already in love with its transformation. The contrast of the deep, dark color against the surrounding white walls creates a captivating visual effect, almost like a tunnel leading into our grand living room.

As I continue to refine the design, I’m currently on the lookout for the perfect light fixtures to complete the overall aesthetic. You might even recognize our old dresser, previously white and now elegantly painted black. This decision, along with painting the doors and molding, has truly elevated the space. The dresser seamlessly blends into the wall, adding to the cohesive and sophisticated ambiance of the entryway. It’s amazing how a few strategic design choices can result in such a remarkable transformation.  Check out the before and after for yourself.

I’m always on the lookout for ways to achieve a designer-inspired home without breaking the bank. Recently, I stumbled upon Boxwood Avenue’s dark and moody foyer while scrolling through Instagram, and it instantly captivated me. Although our home aesthetics differ, I was inspired by how a simple coat of paint completely transformed her space. Recognizing the potential of paint to elevate my own home, I knew that introducing a dark color would bring a much-needed design element to my entryway.

What’s great about using paint for a home makeover is that it’s budget-friendly yet incredibly impactful. You don’t always have to splurge to create a designer-inspired look. With just a can of paint and a little creativity, you can completely revamp your space, achieving the aesthetic you desire. It’s a simple and cost-effective way to breathe new life into your home décor.

Designing this space was a delightful and unexpected journey. It all started with an unfortunate event—a water leak in our home, necessitating the replacement of drywall in our entryway. This also meant bidding farewell to our beloved stencil wall. While I was initially saddened by its loss, I quickly realized that this setback presented a new opportunity to explore fresh design possibilities. Now I look back and wondered what took me so long to repaint that entryway. ha!

With the wall and dresser freshly painted to match, I delved into enhancing other design elements within the space. Remaining faithful to the black, white, and gold color scheme that we’ve been cultivating throughout our home, I meticulously chose pieces that would seamlessly integrate with the overall aesthetic. Adding hardware, mirrors, and various accessories allowed me to infuse the space with personality and warmth, creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects our unique style and taste.

Now, let’s discuss lighting—a crucial aspect of any space, especially one with limited natural light like our entryway. Situated in a hallway with no windows on the door, this area tends to be quite dim.  We installed wall sconces to illuminate the space and a stunning Brass pendant light fixture. Polished solid brass shade the timeless forms, not only provide much-needed brightness but also add a touch of glamour and moodiness to the ambiance.

Now, I’d love to hear from you—what’s your favorite aspect of this space? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. Your feedback is always appreciated!
